PH West Utah Pulmonary Hypertension Symposium

This live accredited activity is the only Mountain West symposium that focuses on the changing epidemiology of pulmonary vascular disease, discusses the role of genetics and epigenetics of various forms of Pulmonary Hypertension, and provides context and guidance for how to incorporate evolving treatment pathways.

This education is provided by leading physicians, researchers, and guideline authors in the field of pulmonary hypertension through a combination of didactic lectures, debates, and lively panel discussions.

Utah is well suited to host this conference with a long established history of pioneering genetic studies and outcomes research, and is at the forefront for the management of the methamphetamine epidemic.

Objectives

After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:

• Identify diagnostic and clinical challenges associated with methamphetamine-associated PAH, including disease recognition, classification, and management
• Evaluate established and emerging approaches to PH assessment which may include the use of artificial intelligence in clinical decision-making
• Analyze advances in PAH and ILD research, incorporating investigational therapies and novel molecular pathways
• Assess evolving evidence and treatment controversies in PH, including management of combined post- and precapillary PH (Cpc-PH) and borderline PH
• Apply patient-centered strategies to optimize PAH management, considering individualized treatment decisions, timely therapeutic escalation, and improved quality of life
• Discuss clinical considerations in PH during pregnancy and the implications of sex-related differences in heart failure for individualized care
